The Eric Worthington Plate is a handicap competition and is played by those clubs knocked out (except those giving walkovers to their opponents) of the Fairlawn Trophy in either round 1 or 2.

We are now entering the second half of the season and there is plenty to play for.
Mens A – Palmerston and Campion at the top have identical records.
Mens B – East Wavertree lead the way with Waterloo, Cressington and Palmerston challenging for 2nd place
Mens C – Looks like a thre horse race between Aughton, Rainford and East Wavertree
Mens D – Is very close with 3 points seaparating the top four
Mens E – Is again very close w3ith 4 points between the top four
Mens F – Trinity lead the way with Blundellsands, Maghull and Palmerston fighting for 2nd place.
Mens G – Another 4 horse race with 5 points seaparating the top four
Mens H – Looks like a two horse race between Carlton an DL-Speke
Mens I – Another four horse race with 4.5 points separating the top four
Mens J – A two horse race between Crsssington and Formby
Ladies A – This will be one of the closest finishes ever with 3.5 points between the top five
Ladies B – A four horse race with 4.5 points separating the top four
Ladies C – Again only 4.5 points between the top four
Ladies D – Aughton lead the way with only 1.5 points separating the next four teams
Ladies E – Rainford lead the way with 1.5 points separating the next three

SImon has sent an email to the four home clubs in the first round of the Fairlawn reminding them that they have to offer dates to their opponents and to play the tie by the 1st of June,

The first league tables of the season are now available but with only half the results in are pretty meaningless. They will be updated weekly on a Sunday so get those cards in as quicly as possible to keep them as up to date as possible, thanks, Jamie Semple

The 2014 season sees the introduction of a new Knockout tournament – the Eric Worthington Plate. The tournament will be a handicap mixed event and will be contested by clubs who have played and lost in rounds one or two of the Fairlawn Trophy.
The Tournament rules and draw will be forwarded in due course to the clubs involved. Good luck to all participants.
The 2014 tennis season will begin on the week beginning Monday April 28th and will run until the end of July.
Blundellsands Men A will be going for a 3rd straight section A title but will face stiff competition from Palmerston and Campion.

Liverpool Tennis Group was hacked at the end of last year. As a result of this we have changed hosting company and are now in the process of rebuilding the site.
