Fixtures Meeting

A short reminder to Clubs that the annual Fixtures meeting will be held at 8pm February 9th at Bohemians. This follows our informal policy of alternating Group meetings between north and south venues.

The 2017 fixtures will be circulated at the meeting and the Liverpool and District Tennis Steering Group. will give an update of progress following Tony McKee’s presentation at our AGM.

Thank you for your Club’s feedback at the AGM. The points raised have been discussed in Committee and we will report at the meeting.

Pauline will be sending out notifications by post in addition to emails and posts on this website.

Regards

LTA plans to revitalise local tennis

Thank you to everyone that attended the Fixtures meeting on Thursday and took part in the discussion about the LTA’s plans to revitalise tennis in our region. The following day we were officially notified of the intention to set up a steering group for development of local tennis. The minutes of the first meeting can be found by clicking here.

We have responded by proposing that all Liverpool Group Clubs should be able to attend these meetings. There was concern that Clubs outside of the City had not been included and have requested clarification on this point.

At this stage it’s not known what funding this steering group can achieve but we would hope that the LTA considers the region worthy of significant support.

More information to follow shortly when we have received a response from the LTA.

League tables

First tables of the season are available and will now be updated on a weekly basis. Can you get your scorecards in as quickly as possible and remember you can email or text a copy to Jamie Semple prior to sending them in so that the tables get updated even quicker.
