The AGM information has now been emailed to Club contacts. It can also be found here in the links below.
We look forward to seeing you at our AGM
The Group AGM will be held at Blundellsands Tennis Club at 8 pm on the 3rd November. Agenda and papers will be sent to Clubs immediately after our Committee meeting on the 18th October.
We will be trialling sending the paperwork by email as this has been requested by Clubs on a number of occasions. Previously, sending items by email has met with mixed success as when we ask for return confirmation we generally only get about 20 responses (from 25) and are never sure that the email has been received by all Clubs.
Could you please ensure that your contact email in the Group Handbook is live and monitored as this will be a great help. The email will also ask for return confirmation so please take a moment to reply.
We look forward to seeing you at the AGM
A brief reminder to all Clubs that you will be receiving the agenda for the Group AGM in the near future and all Clubs are requested to send a representative to the meeting.
As requested, we have put the 2015 AGM minutes online and they can be found by clicking this link. Could you please ask your representative who attended the 2015 AGM to check that these minutes are correct so they can be properly approved at the meeting.
A quick update on the tennis research study being conducted by Liverpool Hope University. Many of our club players have participated in the research at Hope’s state of the art centre at Taggart Avenue. – but some more players are needed to finish the programme.

The Brockbank is also reaching the latter stages of the competition and the following Clubs will play the 3rd Round on the 23rd of August.
Palmerston v Blundellsands
Bohemians v Mersey Bowmen

Carlton v Campion.
Now that we are approaching the end of the 2016 league season it’s time to remind you all that our annual presentation night will take place on Friday 23rd September 2016. It will be held once again at the West Lancashire Golf Club.
Pauline should have contacted all clubs with ticket information but if you haven’t received any correspondence then please get in touch with us!
Congratulations to Matthew Gibson and Beth Taylor who have won the 2016 Chavasse Cup after securing a two set win over last year’s finalists Ian Malabar and Tia Morris of East Wavertree. The final was scheduled to be played as the concluding event on the final Sunday of The Liverpool Hope International Tennis Tournament at Liverpool Cricket Club. Unfortunately the bad weather closed in just before the pairs were due to take their place on the main show court and the fixture had to be rearranged for the following weekend.
Fortunately Chris Evans was able to make the following weekend and personally present the Chavasse Cup and runners up trophies. As many will know, Chris was the instigator of the Tournament in memory of Noel Chavasse, a prominent member of Liverpool Cricket Club who was awarded the Victoria Cross twice for his service in the First World War. Once again we have to thank Chris and all at Liverpool Cricket Club and Northern Vision for generously involving the Liverpool Group in the tournament.
Well done to all Clubs that supported this event and worked with Peter Mattocks to get the fixtures played in the run up to the final. Peter puts a lot of effort into the organisation of the Cup and we are hoping that the competition will go from strength to strength.
